{The Ordinary Moments 2017 #1} Turning 28…

I’ve decided to blog about my birthday week (my birthday celebrations never seem to only last for the one day!) as every year me and my mum can never remember what I did or what I got, which is a real shame!

The celebrations started on Friday night with my friends. The girls came round to my house for ‘pre going out’ drinks and Matt kindly produced some nibbles for us. Well, he said he was doing nibbles but it was a fabulous full on buffet by my book!

Jessie, of course, stayed up late to join in on the action! She insisted on wearing her holiday hat ๐Ÿ™ˆ

The girls and I then went into Lytham, starting in Barique with my current favourite drink – strawberry gin (double ๐Ÿ˜‰). We had a fab night which ended up with a kebab from Ahmets.

Tuesday was my actual birthday. Matt made me breakfast in bed and gave me a lovely card and some little bits wrapped up beautifully in tissue paper – chocolates, wine and a candle.

I loved my card from Jessie – it made me cry! Matt is so good with words.

We then had the obligatory ‘coffee morning’ at my mums house. It’s a bit of a tradition in my family that we always have a coffee morning or tea party to celebrate birthdays.

A couple of my cousins, one of my aunties, my Nan and of course my Mum were available and we had a lovely morning eating fruit toast and cream cakes.

I received some lovely presents, including these Joma bracelets from Jessie, my brother, Mum and cousin.

Afterwards, I went with Matt and Jessie to the Trafford Centre. I had asked for money from my mum and Matt, so I could treat myself.

We drove to Trafford, Jessie slept the whole way and I sang to Smooth FM the whole way… much to Matt’s delight I’m sure ๐Ÿ˜‚

And we only got a slight bit lost (due to poor signage, not my directional skills ๐Ÿ™„).

When we arrived we went and got a burrito. Jessie got one too and she absolutely loved it. I love how she will eat almost anything!

Jessie was a little star, as was Matt who did a brilliant job of keeping her entertained in her pram whilst I browsed shop after shop.

The doll was amazed by all of the fountains and statues. Me and Matt would give each other a little smile each time we heard her gasp with excitement because she’d seen something new.

Matt helped me pick a beautiful rose gold pandora necklace and I used my birthday money to buy a Ted Baker bag and some Mac lipstick. I also got my Primark fix in Selfridges; I was very pleased to get my purchases in an iconic yellow bag (such a saddo I know!)

We then wandered down to Barton Square as they had a little beach area set up, which was perfect for Jessie. She enjoyed having a little run around.

I did want to get a cute photo of us sat on the orange deckchairs but she just screamed and wouldn’t let me ๐Ÿ˜

Finally, on Thursday we went out for a meal with my Mum to my favourite restaurant- Italio. I had a burger which was delicious but huuuge so I only managed half of it! Jessie enjoyed her fish cakes and Matt had a yummy steak. After the meal, my mum took Jessie home so me and Matt could go for a couple of sneaky cocktails in the wine bar across the road.

Here’s to the last couple of years in my twenties…! ๐Ÿ™ˆ
